Hyderabad: Apart from confirming that Hyderabad s iconic Hussain Sagar Lake is teeming with the dreadful coronavirus, researchers have found that the dynamic of viral load in the water serves as an early warning signal of impending pandemic waves.
In addition to the Hussain Sagar, the group of researchers, has identified some more lakes in the city vicinity, the waters of which, contain the virus. These include the Nacharam lake and the Nizam Talab. Fortunately, so far, there are no documented studies to prove that Covid-19 can be spread through water unlike the polio virus.

According to the police sources, Keshoram (27), a resident of Balanagar and an employee
in a private company quarrelled with his wife on May 7. Later, he left the house.
Police said that the man has committed suicide by jumping into the Hussainsagar lake.
Ramgopalpet Police have registered a case and sent the body to Osmania General Hospital for post-mortem.

Hyderabad: In yet another case of state apathy, the baoli (stepwell) inside the age-old Saidanima’s tomb on the Hussain Sagar or Tank Bund road has been lying due to neglect and lack of maintenance from years. The Maqbara or grave of the lady Sufi saint has a huge enclosure area, most of which has also been reportedly encroached upon by locals who run businesses inside.
