PUP numbers increase by 3% in the last week Updated / Monday, 25 Jan 2021 15:47 6,749 people closed their PUP claims over the past 7 days in order to return to work Industry and Employment Correspondent 475,000 people are set to receive the Pandemic Unemployment Payment this week, an increase of 3% on last week s total.  This week s payments of €142.8 million will bring to €5.5 billion the amount the government has disbursed since the PUP scheme went live last March.  6,749 people closed their PUP claims over the past 7 days in order to return to work.  The 475,364 people receiving the PUP this week represent an increase of 15,443 on the 45,9921 eligible for the benefit a week ago.

€175,000 for walks, trails and cycleways across County Limerick Reporter: );   ); FUNDING of almost €175,000 for trails, walkways and cycleways in County Limerick has been announced this Monday. The money has been allocated by Minister Heather Humphrey to ten projects in the county. The projects to benefit are: Lough Gur €20,000, Doon €20,000, Knockfierna €20,000, Liskennett €6,588, Kilfinane €19,980, Ballyhoura Trails €19,980, Ballyhoura Cycling Trails €20,000, Ballyhoura Development Marketing Project €19,980, Broadford and Ashford €19,332, Ballyhahill €8,955. Welcoming the news, Minister Patrick O’Donovan said: Since this Government has been formed Minister Heather Humphreys has made several announcements of funding for communities across Limerick with projects like the Great Southern Greenway receiving very large amounts of money in the last few weeks.
