Share The Hillsboro City Council will meet in a regular session Tuesday, April 20, at 6 p.m. A resolution authorizing an advance funding agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation for the Safe Routes to School sidewalk project is on the agenda. The council will also consider the submission of a Community Development Block Grant application to the Texas Department of Agriculture. A resolution denying a rate request from Oncor Electric will be discussed. A replat of 200 Mark Street is also on the agenda for consideration. The council will consider a request from Carroll Estes to close portions of Elm Street for the Elm Street Rod Run June 25-26.

As previously reported, two members of council were absent from the regular monthly meeting Monday, April 12. Council president Tom Eichinger said council would have to hold a special meeting to consider two ordinances and two resolutions on the original Monday night agenda, as there were not enough members to suspend the three-reading rule.

Despite the coronavirus pandemic, city finances are about where they were expected to be through the first quarter of this year, city auditor Alex Butler said at Monday’s Hillsboro City Council meeting.
“So far, so good. Revenue is about what we expected it to be and expenses as well… so that is good,” Butler said.
