HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL The Hillsborough County Sheriff s Office is conducting a death investigation into the death of an inmate at the Falkenburg Road Jail.
Around 2:45 a.m. Tuesday, Vincentito Otero, 50, was discovered unresponsive on the floor of his single-person cell by detention deputies during a routine check. Jail medical staff and Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded, but were unable to revive Otero.
A cause of death is pending the results of an examination by the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner s Office.

Considered one of the top wide receivers of his time, former NFL player Vincent Jackson was discovered dead in a hotel room, around 12 miles outside Tampa, Florida, officials stated.
Based on the news from the Hillsborough County Sheriff s Office, the 38-year-old stayed at the Homewood Suites in Brandon since January 11.
According to CNN, after members of Jackson s family called to report that he was missing, officials from the Sheriff s office have stated that they spoke with the family on February 10. The following day, a formal report was filed.
The news release also mentioned that last Friday, officials were able to locate Jackson at the Homewood suites and talked to him.

Members of Vincent Jackson s family have told authorities that they believe chronic alcoholism and the lingering effects of concussions might have contributed to the former NFL wide receiver s death.
In a statement provided to USA TODAY Sports on Wednesday, the Hillsborough County Sheriff s Office said that the investigation into Jackson s death is ongoing, but relatives have told detectives that they had reason to believe he may have suffered from chronic alcoholism and concussions. However, the exact cause and manner of Mr. Jackson s death will not be certain until his autopsy, among other reports, is complete, the sheriff s office said.
