The National Program for Conservation and Energy Efficiency (Tarsheed) run by Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has helped save QR300m during 2020.
“Tarsheed programme in 2020 reduced electricity consumption of 289 Gigawatt hours (GWh), water consumption of 32 million cubic metres (m3) and natural gas consumption of 3,207 million cubic feet (MCF), representing a financial saving of QR300m,” said Kahramaa President Eng. Essa bin Hilal Al Kuwari.
He said that the programme also cut carbon footprint caused by the operation of electricity and water sector about 0.4 million tonnes last year. Al Kuwari was speaking at a virtual event organised by Kahramaa yesterday to demonstrate the achievements of Tarsheed during 2020 on its 9th anniversary.
