Some businesses in Saskatoon’s Riversdale area are calling on the city to implement a freeze on property taxes until 2022.
Curtis Olson from Shift Developments owns four properties in Riversdale. He crunched the numbers for 37 owner-operator businesses in Riversdale and found an average of 58 per cent increases for those types of properties, he said.

“I really, really struggle with looking at a 58 per cent tax increase, especially when it’s only being phased in over two years,” he said at a meeting on Tuesday between the city and Riversdale business owners.
