Rent.com says Miami and Hialeah were the only Florida cities among the nation’s top 50 most crowded cities.
Miami, with 467,963 residents and 13,046 residents per square mile, was judged No. 5 on the list of most crowded cities.
“With a variety of neighborhoods, where you live will impact what you pay in rent, but on average, a one-bedroom will set you back $2,497 each month,” the website said. “A big draw for young professionals, Miami offers job opportunities in a variety of industries, including tourism, finance and media and telecommunications. When not at work, there are always the sandy shores of the Atlantic Ocean. With 248 sunny days each year, on average, every day is a beach day.”

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Lines were long Thursday at the new FEMA-supported, state-run COVID-19 vaccination satellite site at Allen Park Community Center in North Miami Beach.
It’s one of two new walk-up sites that opened Thursday, along with one at the Miami Springs Community Center.
“You see that the people have the desire to get the shot. The need is there,” said North Miami Beach Mayor Anthony F. DeFillipo. “People are encouraged to come out and get the vaccine. Everyone wants to get back to normalcy and that’s what we are looking to achieve as a city.”
Just when you think Miami politics can t get any more dramatic, the city s leaders always seem to have a way of one-upping themselves. Take, for instance, City of Miami Commissioner Joe Carollo, who has apparently been entertaining thoughts of seceding from Miami-Dade County after a feud about. street blockades.
This past weekend, Miami-Dade County and the City of Miami butted heads over a set of streets in Silver Bluff, a Miami neighborhood north of Coconut Grove and east of Coral Gables. The city recently placed concrete barriers on five side streets in Silver Bluff to prevent cars from using the neighborhood to circumvent heavy traffic on nearby Coral Way, but the county forcibly removed the barriers, igniting an intense feud.

Residents in the city of Hialeah who lost their jobs or can not pay rent, will be able to apply for the city s Rental Assistance Program.
The city will hand out $7 million in federal funds to help those facing possible eviction from their homes. The program comes as the federal moratorium on evictions is set to expire. We re not sure if the moratorium will be extended, Hialeah Mayor Carlos Hernandez said. That s why it s important to start the application process now and be covered.
For an application, visit Hialeah City Hall or the JFK Library at 190 West 49th Street.
