The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 51-year-old man accused of shooting and seriously injuring a dog in La Villa.
Matthew Rangel was arraigned on Tuesday and charged with cruelty non-livestock animals, a third-degree felony. Bond was set at $30,000.
Sheriff’s deputies arrived to the 20,000 block of Pablo Garza Service Road on Saturday, May 22, in reference to an animal cruelty report, the sheriff’s office stated in a news release.
