Kama vs. Tony Roy: Jerry Lawler and Isaac Tankem vs. Hakushi and Bret Hart: Solid match, though Bret losing a few weeks before Survivor Series, even by DQ, didn’t make a lot of sense. Nitro: Kevin Sullivan vs. Renegade: Solid match, though the post match angle with Jimmy Hart and Renegade is a bit hard to watch considering what ended up happening to Renegade. Eddie Guerrero vs. Chris Benoit: Good match as usual, though a bit of a step down from their last Nitro match.

Marty Janetty vs. Joe Dorgan: Decent match. Decent tag match. Pretty good match for the most part. Nitro: Okay opener. Not a good match at all. Sabu vs. Disco Inferno: What a bizarre match this was. Not a great match, and it continued to show that Sabu was just a fish out of water in WCW, he was more at home in ECW. Lex Luger and Meng vs. American Males:

It was July 7, 1996 when Hulk Hogan shocked the world by leg-dropping Randy Savage & joining Scott Hall & Kevin Nash to form the New World Order. The NWO took World Championship Wrestling to the top of the wrestling scene, posing the strongest threat to Vince McMahon’s dominance of sports entertainment before or since. Many of wrestling’s top stars from the time period donned the NWO black & white t-shirt at one point or another. Not all of them were great fits for the group. The black and gold brand has started to bring back more and more nostalgic names of WWE and WCW pay per views including Halloween Havoc and Vengeance Day, with NXT most recently having NXT TakeOver: In Your House. Being someone who’s been following the WWE all of his life, Cole talked about the feeling he gets when working an NXT TakeOver that is named after a nostalgic pay per view, saying it’s something he really enjoys being a part of.
