BRIDGEPORT, CT - A 25-year-old Harwinton man was arrested by federal agents Thursday and is facing charges related to the Jan. 6 riot in the U.S. Capitol.
Five deaths have been attributed to the events that occurred at the Capitol.
Richard T. Crosby, Jr., appeared virtually before U.S. Magistrate Judge S. Dave Vatti in Bridgeport Thursday afternoon. He was arrested by federal agents around 6:30 a.m. at his home in Harwinton.

BRIDGEPORTÂ (AP) â A Connecticut man was arrested Thursday on charges related to the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.
Richard Crosby Jr., 25, of Harwinton, was scheduled to appear before a federal magistrate in Bridgeport on Thursday afternoon, according to the Connecticut U.S. attorneyâs office.
Authorities did not immediately release the charges or details of the allegations against Crosby. It was not immediately clear if Crosby has a lawyer who could respond to the accusations.
Federal prosecutors said Crosbyâs arrest was related to a criminal complaint issued by the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
