Amy Farrell, the James Hope Caldwell Memorial Chair and professor of American studies and women’s, gender & sexuality studies, has been named a 2021–22 fellow at Harvard Radcliffe Institute, one of the world’s leading centers for interdisciplinary exploration. Farrell will join an extraordinary group of artists, scientists, scholars and practitioners who will learn from and inspire one another in a year of discovery and interdisciplinary exchange in Cambridge, Mass.

Eighty percent of surveyed members of the Harvard Faculty of Arts and Sciences said they think a remote semester is not as valuable as an in-person semester for students, with 43 percent of respondents indicating âstrongâ disagreement.
Simultaneously, nearly 73 percent of survey respondents said that the FAS and the University provided them with sufficient guidance and resources for remote instruction, and 71 percent felt the transition to remote instruction was managed well by FAS.
The Crimson distributed its faculty survey to more than 1,100 members of the FAS in late February, polling Harvardâs flagship faculty on key University policy decisions, challenges they face as academics, and pressing issues on campus â including the repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic. Tenured, tenure-track, and non-tenure-track faculty all received the survey.

Dr. Suresh Reddy, immediate past-president of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin, AAPI, declared his run for Trustee of the village of Oak Brook, Illinois, Jan. 27.
He is among the six candidates running to be Trustees for the three openings that are being contested. Voting takes place on April 6.
“With the objective of giving back to the community, utilizing my talents, skills and experiences for the greater good of the community, which has always been my passion, I have decided to run for public office,” Dr. Reddy is quoted saying in a press release.
