ThinkBook Plus Gen 2: Now With Bigger E Ink
The ThinkBook Plus, which you can see in the image above, offers something a little different to your standard laptop experience by including a second, power-sipping E Ink display on the exterior of the case. This second-generation model revamps the E Ink screen, pushing the size up to 12 inches (the Plus Gen 1 had a 10.8-inch E Ink panel), upping the resolution to 2,560 by 1,600, and allowing you to do more with it, including reading, browsing, and viewing presentations.
Setting up the Harmon Kardon with Google’s Voice Assistant is about as easy as with any other Google smart speaker. Once done, you have the full panoply of features, including songs or podcasts from Spotify, any radio station you can think of, and an array of smart home controls, from alarms to lightbulbs.
It supports connection over Apple’s AirPlay, Chromecast or normal Bluetooth if you want to play music away from a wifi source.
From an aesthetic perspective, Harmon Kardon has gotten it spot on, with a discreet mesh-fabric finish and flushly-indented control buttons on the top. There are two available colours: black or light grey. This is something you’ll happily place on a shelf, table or in a spacious nook of your living room.
But one thing is for certain: this truck is on its way to the crusher, according to The Drive. Perhaps some components can be salvaged but it definitely can t be repaired and later sold. The good news is that no factory employee was injured as a result of this little mishap, and nor was this example one of the Launch Editions of which just 702 examples are being built. Each one costs over $90,000 and all sold out in just three hours.
Launch Edition models come with the Level 2 Equipment Group, which tacks on carbon-fiber interior trim, a color accent package, a head-up display, a 19-speaker Harmon Kardon premium sound system, and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof.
