Nine people nabbed for assaulting ASI in Burari

Nine people have been arrested in connection with the attack on policemen during the Burari incident, said officials on Friday.
A case was registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code at Mukherjee Nagar police station against the accused who were staging dharna at DDA Ground Burari for the past two months against the three farmers bills.
On Thursday at 7.30 p.m., some protestors assaulted an assistant sub-inspector, Harbans Lal, who was deployed at the main entry gate, DDA ground Burari. The incident happened when Lal objected the protesters from going to Red Fort, an officer said. The protesters tore his uniform and injured him.

JAMMU, Jan 18: Series of activities were held across Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh to mark the beginning of National Road Safety Month.
The day witnessed inaugural functions, walkathons and awareness rallies organized by respective district administrations.
JAMMU: The 32nd National Road Safety Month was today inaugurated by Transport Commissioner, J&K Pardeep Kumar, with the flagging off a Walkathon-cum-Awareness Rally, here at Gulshan Ground.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Traffic Jammu, Shiv Kumar Sharma was the guest of honour on the occasion.

SRINAGAR/ JAMMU, Jan 14: As the intense cold weather conditions have further intensified with the mercury during the night settling several degrees below freezing point across Kashmir valley, the authorities today deployed SDRF men in Dal lake, which has frozen with record low temperature of minus 8.4 deg C in Srinagar.
The authorities deployed SDRF personnel in the Dal lake, which has frozen due to record low minimum temperature in Kashmir, to prevent people from walking on the frozen surface of the water body. “Due to freezing temperatures, many water bodies in the Valley, including the world famous Dal lake have frozen. It has been observed that some people, particularly youth and children attempt to walk on the frozen water bodies,” Aamir Ali, Nodal Officer of the State Emergency Operation Centre, Srinagar said.
