Senator Seward Awarded Key To City of Oneonta
At Tuesday night s Oneonta Common Council meeting, Senator Jim Seward, R-Milford, who will very soon be retiring, was presented with a key to the city for his “timeless support” to the City of Oneonta according to AllOTSEGO. See video of the meeting below.
Mayor Gary Herzig lauded Seward’s contributions to Oneonta, mentioning the “reinvention” of the Albert S. Nader Municipal Airport, the grandstand project at Damaschke Field and the Downtown Revitalization Fund, all of which is procured funding for.

Seward is finishing up his last term in NY State 51st district, and will be retiring from the senate seat he has held since 1986. After Seward was awarded a key the city from the common council, he said he had “no idea” he would be receiving the city’s highest honor.
