TUCKER CARLSON, FOX NEWS HOST, TUCKER CARLSON TONIGHT: Good evening and welcome to TUCKER CARLSON TONIGHT.
If you dutifully watched Joe Biden sputter through his announcement of the administration s $2 trillion infrastructure plan yesterday, you may have been left with some questions. First, and most obviously, is this really about infrastructure? Bridges, roads, airports, things we can actually use? Prosecutors assigned to the new unit will focus on areas that the Los Angeles Police Department has determined to be “violence prone,” starting with the Foothill, 77th Street and Newton divisions, according to the memo and a news release Gascón issued Tuesday.
Representatives for the LAPD did not respond to multiple requests for comment.
“Unless we have a community-based solution to the problem, we’re not going to create a sustainable answer,” Gascón said during a news conference earlier this month, adding that the new unit will shift away from a “purely prosecutorial model.”
Gascón and others have touted the move as part of a broader cultural shift that will lead the nation’s largest prosecutor’s office to put as much effort into rehabilitation and crime prevention as it does toward punishment. LOS ANGELES Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón reportedly “gutted” his office’s Hardcore Gang Unit and Major Narcotics Unit this week, severely downsizing both as he continues to undermine the nation’s largest criminal justice jurisdiction.

Report: Soros-backed L.A. D.A. George Gascón Cuts Gang, Narcotics Units by Half

Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón is reportedly cutting the county’s “hardcore gang” unit and narcotics units by half, according to several reports by local journalists.
Billionaire left-wing donor George Soros donated millions fo Gascón’s 2020 campaign, as part of a nationwide push to elect prosecutors who would pursue “criminal justice reform.” Gascón unseated Jackie Lacey, the first black woman in the DA job.
As Breitbart News has reported previously:
Gascón took office [in December 2020] and immediately pushed to end cash bail, bar prosecutors from seeking the death penalty, and end sentence enhancements for most aggravating circumstances.”
