Harrison County Jail inmate dies after suffering medical episode

Author: Giselle Chavez (CBS 19) Published: 8:19 PM CST March 1, 2021 Updated: 8:29 PM CST March 1, 2021 HARRISON COUNTY, Texas The Harrison County Sheriff s Office has reported the death of an inmate Monday afternoon.  According to the Harrison County Sheriff s Office, around 4:50 p.m., jail staff discovered an inmate suffering from a medical episode inside the Main Jail facility.  Officials say lifesaving efforts were performed immediately and the Marshall Fire Department was notified.  The inmate was transported to Christus Good Shepherd Center in Marshall where he was later pronounced dead.  The Texas Department of Public Safety Texas Ranger Division was notified and will complete an independent investigation.

Local officials are encouraging anyone with information regarding the signs whereabouts to contact the Harrison County Sheriff s Department. NEW RUMLEY The Custer Memorial Association is hoping to recover two signs that apparently were stolen earlier this week from New Rumley, an unincorporated community inside Rumley Township. The two signs, stationed at either end of the community along Ohio 646, have vanished. Only the posts the signs were mounted atop remain. Dave Rose, president of the Custer Memorial Association, said officials noticed the signs were missing Wednesday but were unsure if they possibly had just been taken down for maintenance purposes. After contacting the Ohio History Connection and the Ohio Department of Transportation, Rose said he discovered that was not the case and reported
