Financial firm Blackstone has signed a definitive agreement to buy eOne Music from Hasbro for $385 million, the companies announced Monday (April 26).
According to a press release from Hasbro, its entire music operation, including its music operation in Canada, will be acquired by Blackstone controlled entities. Blackstone has nearly $650 billion in assets under management through a variety of investment vehicles, including SESAC music operations which includes the Harry Fox Agency. eOne Music will be a separate stand-alone operation, according to the announcement, helmed by its current global president
Chris Taylor, “who will focus on building a creator-first music brand with global scale and expertise.”

As a principal real estate developer in the Dillsburg area for many years, Harry Fox has no doubt experienced a good share of opposition and disagreement concerning his various subdivision and land development projects.
As a former Franklin Township Supervisor (1980-1997), I can attest to that fact first hand. However, it is also my personal opinion that he worked in cooperation with both the Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors to ultimately achieve board approval for his plans within the guidelines of existing local ordinances, plus any applicable county and state laws at the time.

As you may be aware, The MLC recently received $424 million as payment of the “inception to date” unmatched mechanical royalties held at a number of streaming platforms, sometimes called the “black box.” Why do we have a black box at all? For the same reason you have “pending and unmatched” at record companies–somebody decided to exploit the recording without clearing the song.
