Mike VanNetten discharged from Regional Rehabilitation Centre

The Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation announced in a Facebook post that Mike VanNetten of Simcoe has been discharged from the Regional Rehabilitation Centre. The 45-year-old chicken farmer was put on a ECMO machine in April during his battle with COVID-19. Mike’s wife, Sarah, has been providing daily updates on his journey on her Facebook page, with hundreds of likes, comments, and shares on each post. On June 29, labelled Day 82, she posted that he continues with rehab to work on his strength, balance, oxygen, and heart. The VanNettens have created a Strides for Health Care Heroes Team (Team Chicken) to honour the Hamilton General Hospital Staff.
