Roy Exum: Earn Life s Free Lunches - Chattanoogan com

Roy Exum: Earn Life s Free Lunches Thursday, May 13, 2021 - by Roy Exum Roy Exum The worst debacle in our nation’s history, it is beginning to be proven, was when the United States was quarantined during the COVID-19 epidemic. Our economy – from employment to production – was stymied. Our next generation responded with virtually no education for an entire year and a surging teen suicide epidemic and the biggest profits that were made in the second half of 2020 were by our southern importers – the Mexican drug cartels. Illicit drug use in America is at an all-time high. So, as we begin to ditch the loathed face masks and have to back away from a $300 unemployment benefit because too many who should be working are conning the system, what in the world drew the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce into a frivolous “diversity pledge? With only 68 signatures leading us to believe that over 2,400 Chamber members are embarrassed, and that each is therefore “biased and ra

Roy Exum: UTC Graduates Only 48 5% - Chattanoogan com

Roy Exum: UTC Graduates Only 48.5% Thursday, March 4, 2021 - by Roy Exum Roy Exum After I wrote a story that appeared on Chattanoogan.com (The Disciple Dilemma, Feb. 28, 2021), among the emails were several from dear friends who have been classroom educators, that appealed to me very much. I fear, as do many others who are concerned about our upcoming generations, that for the Tennessee State Legislature to ramrod a sorely needed ‘The Teacher’s Discipline Act,’ it could be that the State of Tennessee would be better off tasking ourselves to consider the “total child” and the state’s archaic education format, rather than what is characterized as a behavior disorder.

Roy Exum: The Discipline Dilemma - Chattanoogan com

Roy Exum: The Discipline Dilemma Sunday, February 28, 2021 - by Roy Exum Roy Exum There is a hard-fisted bill now rapidly moving through the Tennessee Legislature that is aimed at the lack of discipline that is increasing in our state’s public schools. While desperately needed, particularly in our overly challenged metro areas, let’s be very candid from the beginning. This cancer has reached the legislature because our liberal public school leaders haven’t the courage nor the backbone to handle it. Yes, it is yet another symptom of our broken education system and, if you’ll follow the dots, the new age pandering that has besieged our nation is a tremendous factor why an unforgivable 60 percent of our children cannot read on grade level.
