The Election Commission of Pakistan has ordered re-polling in Sialkotâs NA-75 after the results of the February 19 by-elections were challenged by the members of the opposition.
The PML-N accused the PTI of attempting to rig the elections after some presiding members had gone missing during the vote count on the nights that votes were cast.
The officers came to the ECP February 20 morning with the results and claimed that they left early because the fog was too dense.

The results of Sialkot s NA-75 by-election have been withheld after the PML-N accused the ruling PTI of attempting to rig the by-polls. The voting was held from 8am to 5pm on Friday. Voting at some polling stations in Dask was halted after two people were killed and seven injured in a firing incident. After the counting, the Election Commission of Pakistan received results of 337 polling stations, while the results of 23 stations came in late after the presiding officers went missing last night. The presiding officers approached the ECP in the morning and said that they came in late because of fog. The ECP has ordered an inquiry into presiding officers going missing and subs.
The PML-N defeated Prime Minister Imran Khan’s PTI in PK-63 Nowshera and PP-51 Wazirabad by-elections, according to unofficial results. The PTI was, however, able to clinch victory in Nowshera s NA-45. Polling for four vacant national and provincial assembly seats in Sialkot, Gujranwala, Nowshera, and Kurram ended Friday evening.
