Omerta turns 3: Filmmaker Hansal Mehta calls it a film I m super proud of
Hansal Mehtas directorial Omerta was released three years ago on this day. The filmmaker on Tuesday talked about the film and said the performance by Rajkummar Rao stands tall among their projects together. Omerta is a biographical crime drama that had Rajkummar essaying Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh, British terrorist of Pakistani descent. The film revolves around the 1994 kidnappings of Westerners in India.
Hansal shared the poster on Instagram of the film featuring Rajkummar. Alongside the image, he wrote: 3 years of #Omerta. A film I m super proud of. A performance by Raj that stands tall in our work together.

After wowing audiences at international film festivals and scooping multiple awards,
This Is Not A Burial, It’s A Resurrection, the film starring the late iconic actress Mary Twala, opens in cinemas across SA in May.
The film, the last one in which Somizi s mother acted before she died, is directed by Lemohang Jeremiah Mosese and was the first film from Lesotho, made by a Mosotho filmmaker, to screen at an international festival.

HIS passion for acting is so strong that veteran Hong Kong actor Patrick Tse (pic) declared he would not stop working until the day he dies, Sin Chew Daily reported.
“Unless I die, I will continue filming, ” Tse, 84, told reporters at the 45th Hong Kong International Film Festival where his latest movie Time premiered recently.
Film producer Gordon Lam praised Tse for his energy and work ethic despite his age.
Lam pointed out that Tse had put up with days of 18-hour filming without complaining.
“He can still handle both speaking and action roles.
“It’s just that he would ask for egg tarts, beef noodles and Coca-Cola, ” he quipped, adding that Tse was a pleasant actor to work with.
Hong Kong Box Office Down Only 4% at Easter

Theatrical box office in Hong Kong was down by only 4% over the four-day Easter holidays, compared with the same period in 2019, the last pre-COVID year. The score was achieved despite mandatory seating restrictions still in place.
Data published Wednesday by Hong Kong Box Office Limited, showed gross revenues of HK$28.4 million ($3.64 million) between April 2-5, 2021. In 2019 the comparable figure was HK$29.6 million ($3.79 million). The city’s cinemas were closed entirely during Easter last year.

As Hong Kong has been roiled by multiple waves of the virus, cinemas were closed for a total of more than five months. That included the peak periods of Christmas, New Year and Chinese New Year. They reopened in late February, but with seat occupancy limited to 75%.
