Plans unveiled for new blocks of flats in Hythe, Colchester. Picture: From the planning application A planning report, prepared by McLean Architectural, states: The site is currently unused, having been vacated in preparation for redevelopment pursuant to the existing planning permission to create eight apartments, and is in a sustainable location that is close to local services and facilities and the public transport hub at Hythe railway station, with an allocation for redevelopment to residential use in the local plan. The scheme proposes that the whole of the site will be in residential use, with all nine apartments enclosing a shared courtyard and provided with private amenity space, making good use of the land available for development.
