Rapid testing kits key to cutting off viral transmission

Almost all provinces have now been equipped with Rapid Antigen Testing Kits for Covid-19 and have personnel trained in their use and ready to deploy them in the field as necessary, according to Ministry of Health technical director-general Hok Kim Cheng.
Kim Cheng told The Post on April 29 that the kits have reached most provinces, especially those provinces with severe transmission.
“Some provinces have already been using them. In fact, the ministry sent them to the provinces a week earlier,” he said, adding that the kits produce the test results in roughly 15 minutes.

In the past 51 days, five hospitals and centres with 4,300 beds have been set up to treat Covid-19 patients with mild symptoms, according to deputy commander-in-chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces Hun Manet.
In a Facebook post on April 21, Manet said the treatment centres the team had set up are the Great Duke Hotel, Luang Mer Hospital, Covid-19 treatment Koh Pich I and II, and Covid-19 treatment Toul Pongro.

Private hospitals, clinics told to offer suitable prices for Covid-19 treatment

The Ministry of Health called on private hospital and clinics approved – or seeking approval – to test and treat Covid-19 patients to offer suitable prices for their services.
Hok Kim Cheng, director-general for health at the Ministry of Health, on April 25 said a handful of licensed medical facilities had applied after the ministry gave the green light for licensed private hospitals and clinics to treat Covid-19.
“The ministry issued a clear instruction about this, with the intention for our people to get treatment services at private hospitals.
