DVIDS - News - COVID-19 Didn t Stop Nurse s Week

1 Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Pearl Harbor (NMRTC-PH) celebrated National Nurses Week May 6-12, 2021 in a COVID-19 restricted environment for the second consecutive year. While the celebration looked different than pre-COVID times, a pandemic didn’t keep the command from recognizing their nurses and the high quality care they provide patients. The Nurses Week planning committee worked alongside the command nurses association to organize activities and events for all nurses. “The goal was to put together a week filled with activities to express our gratitude for all nurses for what we do each and every day,” said Capt. Andrea Petrovanie-Green, Quality Department Head at NMRTC-PH. “We wanted to make this a memorable and fun event which is needed after the year we have experienced.”

She is a member of the American College of Rheumatology, American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Lundblad is an advanced practice registered nurse with a special interest in rheumatology. She joins Dr. Kathryn Riordan as part of Lakewood’s rheumatology team. “I am excited to be moving back to this community, and can’t wait to join the Lakewood team, which is known for wonderful patient care,” Lundblad said.

New Bedford High School graduation rate increases 30 points in 10 years

NEW BEDFORD New Bedford High School on Thursday announced a historic increase in its graduation rate over the past decade. According to NBPS data, four-year graduation rates are at 88.1% for 2020, a whopping 32.3 percentage point increase from 2010 rates of 55.8%. Four-year cohort graduation rates, where students remain in the school from grades 9 through 12, are at 90% for 2020, a 7.5% increase from 2019 rates of 82.5%. For a district of more than 13,000 students and 2,600 students alone at the high school, this is a massive improvement from a decade ago. This is a story of persistence, Mayor Jon Mitchell said. Currently, that ranking scale has been eliminated by the state.
