Canada s largest domestic and international airline, Air Canada will launch more non-stop options from Canada to Hawaii this winter.
The Canadian airline will launch the first Montreal-Honolulu and Toronto-Maui services. These new flights complement the airline s long-standing services from Calgary and Vancouver to the Hawaiian Islands and will enable convenient connections across Canada as well as from Europe. We are seeing strong demand in the sun markets this winter with people in Canada and around the world looking ahead to holiday travel. Before the pandemic, Hawaiʻi s tourism industry generated $17.8 billion a year for the state s economy. Of that, nearly a billion dollars came from the meetings, conventions and incentives markets - also known as MCI. Meetings, really the way we define it in Hawaiʻi, is less than 250 attendees - traditionally mostly corporate, said John Reyes, chief salesman of MCI markets for the Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority.
He says conventions are any events with more than 250 attendees, and are usually tied to an association or other industry organizations.
Incentives are relatively new to the state. This market is generally companies rewarding employees with a trip for exceeding selling or marketing goals.

MONTREAL, May 12, 2021 /CNW Telbec/ - Air Canada will launch more non-stop options from Canada to Hawaii this winter, including the first Montreal-Honolulu and Toronto-Maui services. These new flights complement the airline s long-standing services from Calgary and Vancouver to the Hawaiian Islands and will enable convenient connections across Canada as well as from Europe.
The flag carrier will resume flights from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to Maui’s Kahului Airport (OGG) on September 10, with flights departing YVR at 6 pm and arrive at 9:03 pm. For return trips, the flights will leave OGG at 10:40 pm and arrive at 7 am the next day.
The route from YVR to Honolulu’s Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) will resume on September 4. Flights will leave YVR at 2:05 pm and arrive at 5:30 pm, while return flights will leave HNL at 9:55 pm and arrive at 6:55 am the next day.
Both routes serving Maui and Honolulu will use the Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft in peak winter, with frequencies on each route ramping up to daily. The departure and arrival times will vary in peak winter.
