Heartfelt tributes to Mandi from the Hare who was loved by so many in Connah s Quay

TRIBUTES have been paid to a woman whose laugh could fill a room. Mandi Harris was known to hundreds of people in Deeside as Mandi from the Hare after working behind the bar of the Hare and Hounds in Connah s Quay for years. The 48-year-old died suddenly at home on Wednesday evening. Her partner of 32 years Steven Prestidge said Mandi was a much-loved character in Deeside where she knew everybody and everybody knew her. But he added that, although she was much-loved, she would take no nonsense when she was behind the bar. Steve said: She was known as Mandi from the Hare. Everyone knew her. She was one of those bubbly people. She was brought up in Mancot and I ve lived in the Quay all my life. I m 51 now, and Mandi knew ten times more people than me in the Quay. If we walked to Iceland in Shotton we d have to stop every 20 yards to talk to someone.
