With more people joining their ongoing agitation in Haryana, the farmers ensured that no fee was collected from vehicles at toll plazas on national highways for the second day on Saturday. The farmers said they will make movement through toll plazas free on Sunday too.

Farmers protesting against the Centre s three recent agriculture sector laws stayed put at the borders of Delhi amid biting cold weather on Sunday, firm on their demand for the repeal of the reforms.
This, as defence minister and senior BJP leader Rajnath Singh asserted that attempts to mislead the farmers will not succeed.

Chandigarh, Dec 27: Farmers on Sunday beat thalis at a few places in Punjab and Haryana during Prime Minister Narendra Modi s Mann Ki Baat radio programme as part of their protest against the Centre s new agri laws.

While addressing a press conference on December 20 at Delhi s Singhu border, farmer leaders had asked people protesting against the laws to beat utensils during the programme, the same way the prime minister had asked them in March to beat thalis (steel plates).
Modi had asked people to express gratitude towards those at the forefront of combating the coronavirus and extending essential services by giving a five-minute standing ovation by clapping, beating plates or ringing bells.

With farmer leaders intensifying efforts to make the ongoing stir pan-India agitation against three farm laws, the farmer groups from Bihar have announced to move to Delhi from January 8.
A visit to Patna by Haryana Bhartiya Kisan Union president Gurnam Singh Chaduni to meet farmer leaders seems to have further brought Bihar in sync with the ongoing protests. Chaduni visited Patna on Monday.
