The F-150 Lightning may be the biggest, baddest electric truck Ford Motor Co. has ever produced. But it isn t the first.
That honor belongs to the electric Ford Ranger, a plucky little truck with an outsize reputation. Its birth and near-death more than 20 years ago have become the stuff of legend among gearheads a mythology made more potent by its rarity. As few as 100 could be left in existence.

Jane Teixeira, who has led Intercollegiate Athletics & Recreational Sports through the challenges of the pandemic over the last year, has stepped down from her position to spend time focusing on serious family matters.

During her time at Humboldt State, Ms. Teixeira worked to develop safe approaches for student-athletes to practice during the pandemic, and for multiple teams to be able to participate in limited competition in the Spring. In addition, she helped guide efforts to rebrand HSU Athletics, which included a major update of the department’s website. Ms. Teixeira consistently stressed the importance of performance in the classroom as well as community involvement, and was focused on providing a positive experience for student-athletes by championing giving back to the community and leading social equity change.
As a junior at Humboldt State University in the mid-’90s, his aerial photography depicting the deforestation of Humboldt’s old-growth redwoods took him across the country as an environmentalist calling for the preservation of the region’s dwindling old-growth forests.
