It’s been just under two weeks since the Hip Hop community learned Shock G of Digital Underground fame had died. Digital Underground s Shock G was laid to rest Saturday afternoon as family and friends said their final goodbyes.
An intimate funeral service for the late rapper and producer, born Gregory Jacobs, was held at the Allen Temple A.M.E. Church in Tampa, Florida. The three-and-a-half-hour-long service was streamed live on the church s website and Facebook page. Friends and family of the rapper-producer, born
Gregory Jacobs, joined together at the Allen Temple A.M.E. Church in Tampa, Florida on Saturday (May 1). The service was streamed live, according to the church’s Facebook page.

CeeLo Green, were a few of the celeb guests in attendance, WFLA Channel 8 reports. Members of Digital Underground also made appearances on the live stream of the service to offer their condolences.

Shock G was a rapper and keyboardist for Digital Underground, a pioneering Hip Hop group responsible for a number of influential singles, including the group’s groundbreaking hit “The Humpty Dance.” He was also known as his alter ego Humpty Hump.

TAMPA, Fla. - It’s been one week since Ronald Brooks took the call. When I answered the phone, I just heard crying, and they were like, ‘He’s gone,’ Brooks said. Immediately I knew what he was saying, but I didn’t want to acknowledge it.
Brooks, known professionally as Money B, received the news that his former colleague, Shock G, was found dead in a Tampa hotel. You know, it’s a blow, because he is the origin of everything that we’re about, Brooks said.
