WASHINGTON (AP) Mookie Betts hit a go-ahead single during a nine-run rally in the seventh inning after Washington ace Max Scherzer departed, and the Los Angeles Dodgers surged past the Nationals 10-5 Friday night for their seventh straight win.
The Dodgers went to the White House in the morning to meet with President Joe Biden and celebrate their 2020 World Series title.
“I do know right now, we’re playing really good baseball,” Los Angeles manager Dave Roberts said. “We got our big guy (Clayton Kershaw) going (Saturday). We had a great day at the White House.”

Justin Turner homered for one of his three hits and Mookie Betts rapped a go-ahead two-run single during Los Angeles nine-run seventh inning, as the visiting Dodgers rallied for a seventh consecutive victory, 10-5 over the Washington Nationals on Friday night in D.C.
Turner s solo homer in the fourth and three other hits were all Los Angeles managed against Washington star Max Scherzer through the first six innings. However, once Scherzer, who struck out eight, exited the game, the Dodgers bats came alive.
Down 3-1 in the seventh, Los Angeles got within a run on Albert Pujols RBI infield single against Sam Clay (0-1). After the Dodgers loaded the bases, Betts gave the visitors a 4-3 lead on his two-run single off Austin Voth.

The Washington Nationals have found some much-needed infield help in an interesting fashion, striking a deal to acquire shortstop Alcides Escobar from the Kansas City Royals.
#Nationals are indeed getting Alcides Escobar from the Royals. They re sending cash. Escobar was in KC for part of their rebuild and won the 2015 World Series. Named ALCS MVP in 15.
