Four bakeries sealed over unhygienic conditions July 15, 2021 MARDAN: Food Safety and Halal Food Authority here on Wednesday sealed four bakeries and recovered rotten eggs, expired butter and other bakery products. A press release said that on the directives of Deputy Director Kamran Khan, food safety officers Sher Hassan Khan and Adil under the supervision of Assistant Director Anila Mehboob inspected 10 bakeries in the district. Four bakery units were sealed over insanitary conditions while fines were imposed on several others. Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Habibullah Arif imposed Section-144 and banned the display of weapons and festive firing and also cancelled the leaves of employees of the Health Department, TMA, WSSCM and Rescue 1122 on the occasion of Eidul Azha.

1,100 dead chickens seized in Takht Bhai July 14, 2021 MARDAN: The district administration and Food department arrested two poultry sellers and recovered 1,100 dead chickens here on Tuesday, said a communique. The communique issued from the deputy commissioner’s office said that Assistant Food Controller Khalid Khan, Food Inspector Mohsin Nisar and Food Inspector Irfan Afridi took action against those selling dead chickens in different areas of Takht Bhai. The team arrested two poultry sellers who were selling dead chickens. The administration recovered 1,100 dead chickens and registered a first information report against the arrested shopkeepers and sent them to jail. Deputy Commissioner Habibullah Arif asked the people to inform the administration about such bad practices. He added that the Food Department would continue to take action against such people. They had gone to Afghanistan to fly from Kabul airport to Saudi Arabia as the Saudi Airline had cancelled its flight operations from Pakistan due to coronavirus. They had to suffer seeking Afghan visas and waiting in Kabul for several weeks to get the air tickets. All of them had valid visas to travel to Saudi Arabia. 108 families of police martyrs given gifts on Eid days National May 16, 2021 MARDAN: Sub-divisional police officers and station house of officers of all the four tehsils visited the families of police martyrs in all the four tehsils of the district during Eidul Fitr days. A police spokesman said that on the directives of District Police Officer Dr Zahidullah Khan, the officials of all police stations visited the families of the police martyrs in their respective jurisdictions in all four tehsils including Mardan, Takhtbhai, Katlang and Shahbaz Gharhi areas. The cops offered Eid gifts and sweets to around 108 families, who have been registered with the district police in the list of police martyrs’ heirs.
