It had all the making of a trap game for Syracuse. The final leg of a four-game sprint in eight days, the second consecutive on the road and its opponent Clemson winless in 2021. From the opening five minutes, the Tigers pounced on the opportunity.
First they turned over Tiana Mangakahia on the opening possession after the fifth-year guard had zero giveaways against No. 1 Louisville on Thursday. Each ensuing possession, they’d trap whichever SU guard brought the ball across half court. A frenetic pace unfolded and while Orange took rushed shots, Clemson consistently found open looks, turned SU over three times and raced out to a 14-6 lead.

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) Kendall Spray scored 24 points with seven 3-pointers, Amari Robinson added 23 points and short-handed Clemson upended No. 23 Syracuse 86-77 in overtime Sunday after blowing a 25-point halftime lead.
The Tigers were outscored 23-9 in the third quarter and 20-9 in the fourth before scoring 16 points in overtime to end a four-game losing streak and beat the Orange for the first time ever in 10 tries.
Florida State Outlasts Clemson in Double-Overtime Thriller
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. For the second time on the season, a thrilling duel between Clemson and Florida State came down to the wire. While the Tigers had the upper hand in the matchup earlier in the season, the Seminoles pulled out a 95-88 win at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center on Thursday, with the action-packed matchup requiring two overtimes in order to reach its conclusion.
In the double-overtime clash, Clemson (8-5, 3-5) shot 39.1 percent from the field, and the Seminoles (5-2, 4-2) generated a field goal percentage of 50.0. The Tigers made 36 field goals, three more than the Seminoles, and connected on four 3-pointers and 12 free throws. The physical contest included its fair share of fouls, and FSU went 24-for-33 at the charity stripe.
