Lancers fend off Hauser comeback
HOPE An Edinburgh girls basketball team that had been in quarantine for two weeks certainly did not show any rust from the layoff when it returned to the court Tuesday night.
The Lancers were efficient at both ends of the floor in a 63-51 win at Hauser in the Mid-Hoosier Conference opener for Edinburgh.
“After our break, it was really nice,” said sophomore Gracie Crawhorn, who led the Lancers with 16 points. “I think we played good as a team. We set up the plays and got good passes and good shots.”
Edinburgh (3-2, 1-0) was playing for the first time since Dec. 1 after a player had tested positive for COVID-19. The Lancers returned to practice on Monday.

Hauser got two three-pointers from Hannah Taylor to pace the Lady Jets, and Aunaka Wasil added a three-pointer for Hauser.
The second quarter was a much different story, as Switzerland County outscored their guests by a 15-4 count to take a 28-17 lead into the break.
