DHSS COVID-19 visitation policies to remain in place as State of Emergency ends

DELAWARE – Delaware’s State of Emergency ends on Tuesday. But the Department of Health and Social Services is going to keep its COVID-19 visitation policies and restrictions in place for their long term care facilities. All 86 of the first state’s facilities will follow existing visitation and testing guidance. DHSS says they’re doing this in order to keep residents safe and health amid COVID-19.
Some of those facilities include nursing homes and assisted-living facilities. DHSS says visitation by loved ones is still encouraged, but it all depends on each facility’s current status with positive COVID-19 cases among residents, and the over all positivity rate. “It’s going to depend on how the pandemic is going. Lawsuit halts hope for emergency COVID-19 funding

OCEAN CITY, Md. – When the COVID-19 pandemic began, many business owners were left with a choice: Shut down and wait out the storm to avoid garnering too much debt – or stay open to keep supporting their employees and rack up the bills. Owner of Mother’s Cantina Neely Jones says she went with the latter. She says that’s because her staff is more than just that; they’re family. “I did the right thing. I made the right choices,” said Jones. “We had about $1 million in losses during COVID. About $300,000 was absorbed by PPP loans. But that still put us $700,000 in debt.”

SALISBURY, Md. – Salisbury is getting ready to celebrate Juneteenth with a community cookout. Eastern Shore Juneteenth, the Wicomico Truth and Reconciliation Initiative, Action Made Clothing, and Faith Over Fear Economic Development Inc. are all pitching in. “We weren’t expecting it to be a big event. We were just thinking of something small that we could have that celebrates Juneteenth and that people could come out to.
