Authorities in Hanoi are planning on mobilizing state budget to purchase COVID-19 vaccine for all citizens as the pandemic situation in the capital has become increasingly serious.
Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue chaired a meeting with relevant agencies on Tuesday to discuss COVID-19 prevention and control efforts.
Given the urgent situation, Hue ordered competent authorities to prioritize pandemic prevention and control tasks to ensure safety for all residents.
All direct and indirect contacts of existing patients must be tracked in a rapid manner, while the patients’ places of residence must be locked down to prevent the disease from spreading.

Mr. Nguyen Phu Trong has been re-elected as the General Secretary of the Party Central Committee for the 2021-2026 term.
This is the sixth time he has been elected to hold key positions of the Party and the State. Every time he was elected, Mr Trong in his inauguration speech has always demonstrated humility, sincerity and character of a communist.

Fifteen years ago, on June 26, 2006, Mr. Trong, Hanoi’s Party chief at that time, was elected as Chairman of the National Assembly.

NDO/VNA – On February 1, at the closing session of the 13th National Party Congress, the congress’s Presidium announced the results of the election of the Politburo, the Party General Secretary, the Secretariat, the Inspection Commission, and the head of the Inspection Commission of the 13th Party Central Committee.
Accordingly, in its first plenum, the 13th Party Central Committee elected Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the 12th Party Central Committee, State President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Secretary of the Central Military Commission, as General Secretary of the 13th Party Central Committe at very high consensus.
Party chief re-elected for third term at the helm

The 13th Communist Party Central Committee has elected Nguyen Phu Trong for a third term as Vietnam s Party General Secretary.
The first plenum of the 13th Party Central Committee took place Sunday morning to choose members of new Politburo, the Party General Secretary, the Secretariat, the Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission and the commission s chairperson.
Incumbent Party chief Nguyen Phu Trong, 77, was re-elected for another five-year term, the third in a row.
