Indiana won t name handful of clinics violating state vaccine guidelines

Feb 24, 2021 / 09:42 PM EST INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) The vaccination guidelines are pretty clear if you are going by age alone, but a handful of clinics in Indiana have allowed ineligible people to get the vaccine.  On Wednesday, Dr. Kristina Box, Indiana’s health commissioner, would not name or say many clinics violated state vaccine guidelines. However, the state will take the violators off the list of clinics accepting new vaccination patients. “A lot of times it has been centered around the eligibility to a waitlist and the importance of that waitlist reflecting either the current eligibility we have opened up at the state level or those age groups that are close to that,” Box said.

Black Greek organizations in Indianapolis keep aim set on generational change during pandemic

Feb 23, 2021 / 08:36 PM EST INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) Black Greek organizations have been impacting communities around the world for more than a century. Black fraternities and sororities started with college-educated people of color, focusing on issues and advocating for the Black community. It’s a bond like no other. Four sororities and five fraternities make up “The Divine 9.” In Indianapolis, all nine organizations serve together under the National Pan-Hellenic Council to make sure there is community change and betterment. “Black Greek organizations have always been a source of family and community. When all of our orgs were founded, Black people did not have a voice, like they do today,” said Ezell Marrs lll, member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc.
