Hutch Chamber to Host Legislative Forum on April 10

The Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce is hosting its second Legislative Forum for the 2021 legislative session on Saturday, April 10 at Hutchinson’s Historic Fox Theatre, 18 E. 1st Avenue, Hutchinson. The event will also be live-streamed on the Hutch Chamber Facebook page.
U.S. Sen. Roger Marshall will begin the Legislative Forum at 9 a.m., which will give everyone a chance to hear about national-level issues that are being discussed.
Then from 9:30 – 11 a.m., the Reno County legislators will begin their dialogue about topics of interest here in Kansas.

The Reno County Commission will leave in place the governor’s mask mandate for the county until at least March 30, when the board will take it up for discussion once again.
Local health officials asked the commission on Tuesday to leave the order in place at least for another month, to allow more employees in high contract critical jobs to be vaccinated against the virus.
But Commission Chair Ron Hirst and Commissioner Daniel Friesen wanted to review it sooner.
Hirst initially asked that the item be placed on Tuesday’s agenda after he visited family in Texas and found, in the brief time he was there, that masks were still being worn in most businesses despite the governor of Texas lifting that state’s mandate.
SAMHSA is an agency in the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services in the nation’s capital.
Horizons was one of only six community mental health centers in Kansas selected as recipients of the expansion grants. Approximately 340 agencies throughout the nation are CBHCCs or have made an application to become one.
To complete the steps required to be a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic, Horizons will be required to provide a comprehensive number of treatment services that create access, stabilize clients dealing with crisis, and provide treatment and recovery services for those with the most serious and complex mental health and substance abuse issues.
