One of the world’s most honored plays of this century will take the Sterling High School Theatre stage as The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is brought to life Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, March 25, 26 and 27.
Winner of both the Tony and the Olivier Award for best play, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time brings Mark Haddon’s internationally best-selling novel to thrilling life on stage in a unique adaptation by acclaimed playwright Simon Stephens. Both the novel and the play are British imports to America. Heralded British director Marianne Elliott directed both the London and Broadway productions of the show.

Sedgwick County passes 700 COVID deaths; Kansas active cluster count drops to new low Jason Tidd, The Wichita Eagle
Mar. 3 Sedgwick County has now surpassed 700 deaths from COVID-19 as Kansas reported its best coronavirus cluster numbers since August.
As of Wednesday, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment reported that the state has now had pandemic totals of 295,109 confirmed and probable cases, 9,355 hospitalizations, 2,541 ICU admissions and 4,816 deaths. The increase from Monday to Wednesday was 807 new cases, 65 new hospitalizations, 20 new ICU admissions and 73 new deaths.
Sedgwick County, according to the KDHE, has now had 53,830 cases, 1,455 hospitalizations, 424 ICU admissions and 711 deaths. Wednesday s report contained 151 new cases, 23 new hospitalizations, six new ICU admissions and 17 new deaths.

GREAT BEND – The Great Bend Chamber of Commerce staff and Ambassador Club officially welcomed Peoples Bank and Trust into Great Bend on Feb. 26 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 2220 Broadway Ave.
This follows the 2020 announcement from PBT Bancshares, Inc., the McPherson-based parent company for Peoples Bank and Trust, that it had entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Community Bank of the Midwest, of Great Bend.
The merger, which is now complete, includes locations in Ellinwood, Otis and Ness City, and brings additional financial services to former customers of Community Bank of the Midwest by offering Trust Services, Investment Services, Farm Management Services, and expanded Residential Real Estate Lending Services, said Tom Pruitt, president and CEO of Peoples Bank and Trust.
