Reeves, who has been with the city since September 2019, recently moved to Colorado.Â
âIâm more than grateful and excited for the opportunity,â Reeves said.
The setup is something that likely wouldnât have been considered pre-COVID, Reeves said. But during that time, he and most of the city staff were working entirely remotely. Now most staff are still working hybrid, with three days at home.Â
The success of the city during this format is a testament to strong department heads and council, Reeves said.Â
Reeves will come back once a month for city council meetings and spend Monday-Wednesday in the office that week. He will also return as needed for emergencies or other reasons.Â
HUDSON The Hudson Common Council held its first board meeting with the reelected and newly-elected council members on Tuesday, April 20.Â
Sarah Bruch joined for her first term, with Randy Morrissette II and Joyce Hall returning to their seats.Â
Hereâs what to know from the meeting:Â
Getting organized
The council elected Bill Alms to serve as Council President.Â
Members also approved the appointment of council members as voting committee members, and the mayor announced his appointments of members to the plan commission and standing committees, which are not subject to council approval.Â
The council approved citizen appointments to boards and committees as well. Council member Joyce Hall said she would prefer to approve each appointment separately at a later date, as she didnât know anything about the appointees. Mayor Rich OâConnor said he had emailed resumes of the applicants to council members.Â

WISCONSIN On the crowded streets of downtown Hudson, Wisconsin, after sunset on a Friday in December, a man could be overheard as he waited in a huddle to get into Agave Kitchen: I believe in it, I just don t think it s that bad, he said loudly, confident in his chances against COVID-19.
There were no parking spots to be had. Groups jumped out of vehicles quickly at red lights maskless and on a mission. By 7:30 p.m., almost 600 cars with Minnesota license plates lined the streets of this quaint bedroom community.
