Hudson County Division on Planning discusses possibility of Bayonne ferry locations

Project manager Kevin Force led the forum and noted that the City of Bayonne had initiated an earlier study of a possible ferry departing from the Military Ocean Terminal.
“They were a real inspiration for us. It made us want to explore different transportation options for Hudson County and the surrounding region,” Force said.
Force explained they are looking at Bayonne as one of the possible locations for a new ferry stop, especially on the city’s west side.

Inaugural recipient chosen for 2020 Charlie Kontos Environmental Activist Award
A Bergen County high school student has been chosen as the inaugural recipient of the Charlie Kontos Environmental Activist Award, named for a naturalist and Stevens Institute of Technology graduate who died in 2010 at age 33. Connor Cunningham, a senior at Glen Rock High School, was chosen for founding and working with the non-profit Friends of New Jersey Ponds group. Through it, he rid Duck Pond in his hometown of algae, according to retired Stevens professor Silvio Laccetti of Fairview, whose Laccetti Foundation is bestowing the award.
