Hoboken to increase parking meter rates in business districts

Parking meter rates will increase to $0.50 per 15 minutes along Washington Street, 14th Street, First Street, River Street, and the Hoboken Terminal.
On March 5, Hoboken will increase parking meter rates in business districts, charging $0.50 for every 15 minutes.
According to the city, the new rate aims to increase parking availability by providing an 85 percent occupancy rate or a one-to-two parking space availability per block. The increased on-street parking also aims to reduce the number of double-parked cars that block roadways and bike lanes.
The new rates will take effect on Washington Street, 14th Street, First Street, River Street, and the Hoboken Terminal area.

There were no parking spots to be had. Groups jumped out of vehicles quickly at red lights maskless and on a mission. By 7:30 p.m., almost 600 cars with Minnesota license plates lined the streets of this quaint bedroom community.

HUDSON Lakefront Park is lit up for the holiday season this year in the second annual Buena Vista.
The lights display downtown serves as a bright spot during the continued difficulties of 2020.
“It has been such a challenging year for everyone, and I thought the one thing we could have is lights in the park this year,” Chamber President Mary Claire Olson Potter said.
Sponsors agreed that this year everyone needed it more than ever, she said. Donations from area families and businesses helped add even more to the annual display.
