Tapan Misra on Tuesday has alleged that he was poisoned with a deadly
chemical on May 23, 2017 at the headquarters of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) when he had gone there to attend a promotion interview. I have come out in public as I fear for my life post retirement. I am retiring this month, Misra, Senior Advisor at ISRO, told IANS.
Two former space agency chiefs could not be reached for a response, while one declined to comment on the allegations.

GUWAHATI: The cost of Haj (pilgrimage to Mecca) from Assam and the other north-eastern States will be the highest in the country from 2021.
According to the recent circular issued by the Haj Committee of India,the approximate cost of Haj from Guwahati (as the embarkation point) will be Rs 3,99,273.40. Before the Centre lifted the Haj subsidy, the pilgrimage cost was between Rs 2 lakh and Rs 2.10 lakh.
NEW DELHI: Even as fear of Covid-19, stringent protocols and higher costs involved due to necessary safety arrangements, has so far kept away many prospective applicants from registering for Haj-2021, there are around 500 women without mehram (male companion) who figure on the list of 42,000 odd applicants who meet all the norms, reports Ambika Pandit.

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Hajj Committee today extended the last date of submission of Haj application forms for intending pilgrims 2021 upto 10th January, 2021.
As per a notification issued here, the Executive Officer, J&K Haj Committee has hereby informed the intending Haj pilgrims that in pursuance of Circular issued by Haj Committee of India, the last date for Submission of Haj Application Forms is hereby extended upto10th January, 2021.
The notification further informs that the applicants possessing machine readable valid Indian International Passports issued on or before 10th January, 2021 and valid up to 10th January, 2022 will be eligible to apply for Haj – 2021.
