It s the perfect time of year to see the beautiful wildflowers of Texas. Take a drive on the Wildflower Trails of Texas then check out the fun at the 51st Annual Wildflower Trails of Texas Festival in Linden.
The actual Wildflower Trails of Texas to drive is on Highways 49, 155, and 11 between Avinger, Hughes Springs, and Linden. Their site says that the last weekend of April is the best time to check out this trail to see the most wildflowers blooming in the fields.
The Wildflower Trails of Texas Festival will take place Friday, April 23 thru Sunday, April 25. There will be a lot of great live music all weekend. Friday night at 8PM the White Trash Wannabees will take the stage.

Texas bluebonnets typically peak at the end of March through mid-April. Bluebonnets often start blooming near Interstate 10 between San Antonio and Houston and then farther north toward the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The native range of Texas bluebonnets is primarily the Hill Country and Blackland Prairie Ecoregions, although Texans have seeded these flowers well beyond.
