KARACHI: Karachi police on Friday said they had prepared a comprehensive foolproof security and traffic plan in connection with the PSL-6 matches scheduled to commence on February 20 (today) and continue till March 7 in the city.
The plan was devised in a meeting presided over by Karachi police chief Ghulam Nabi Memon and attended by relevant stakeholders.
“Overall more than 5,000 personnel of Karachi police will perform security duty during the PSL-6,” according to a police statement.

Foolproof security will be ensured during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches, while the seating arrangements for the spectators will be made by the National Stadium administration strictly in accordance with the Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs).
A statement issued by the Karachi commissionerâs office on Thursday said that Commissioner Naveed Ahmed Shaikh chaired a meeting at his office to discuss and finalise the arrangements for the sixth edition of the PSL tournament that will start on Saturday (tomorrow).
The meeting reviewed the arrangements made for security, traffic management, parking, electricity supply, street lightsâ installation, cleanliness, shuttle service and the observance of the coronavirus SOPs.
