In this grilling method, the meat is thinly sliced or cut into small pieces, skewered with metal or moist wood, and then quickly grilled. Any meat can be cooked this way, though beef, chicken, goat, and lamb are the most popular options. In form and function, the grilled meat snacks share similarities with shish kebabs in the Middle East and yakitori in Japan. The real star in West Africa, though, is the seasoning. Rather than relying mainly on marinating the meat in liquids to impart flavor, West African cooks apply a flavorful spice rub to the meat before cooking it over charcoal.

Southern Governors had unanimously resolved that the south should produce the next president come 2023. What’s your take on that?
Being chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum chairman, I won’t say my mind but I think people should understand the history as to how leaders were produced in 1999, it was done through unity. PDP and APP were the major political parties at the time. Alex Ekwueme and Obasanjo were the aspirants under PDP, and Obasanjo carried the party’s flag. For us in the APP, we entered an alliance with AD, it produced the presidential candidate in Olu Falaye while APP produced his running mate, Umaru Shinkafi. That arrangement produced both candidates from the South West, and that’s how the region ruled for eight years.

Biafra: We Were Never Lost!
Recently a report online indicated that the Department of State Services (DSS) had arrested three Israelis shooting a documentary in Ogidi town, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, southeast Nigeria last week. The film-documentary was titled: “We Were Never Lost”. It was exploring the Jewish communities in African countries such as Kenya, Madagascar, Uganda, and Nigeria. According to the ‘Times Of Israel’ newspaper those arrested included Rudy Rochman, a Zionist activist, filmmaker Andrew (Noam) Leibman and Edouard David Benaym.
The report said the crew were detained at a synagogue during Friday night services in the town of Ogidi by the notorious Nigerian secret police, the DSS, and taken to Abuja for interrogation. The trio were accused of coming into contact with the ‘Biafran separatists’! So it is now a ‘crime’ for foreginers to come into contact with the Igbos in their ancestral lands
