Police officers in Swindon have received an early Christmas gift from a five-year-old. Dexter, who wants to become a police officer, gave officers homemade Christmas cards, a bauble and a box of chocolates to thank them for the hard work that has been done this year. In return, officers visited Dexter and his family for a chat and they got to sit on the bonnet of one of the police cars. PC Jessica Sowden, from the Swindon Community Policing Team response officers, said: “It was so lovely to meet Dexter and his family and it was very heart-warming to hear of his support for us and the fact that he had taken the time to make these special cards and gifts.
