Daycare centres reopen in Mysuru | Mysuru News

MYSURU: Several daycare centres that closed when the pandemic-induced lockdown was imposed in March last year, have reopened in Mysuru city, albeit with limited service. The government, though, has not permitted these centres to reopen, but the fact that many have has come as a relief to young working couples, who have no one to attend to their children. The state women and child welfare department has also reopened anganwadis as per a court order with just five pupils per session. Harini Narayan, a private bank employee from the Srirampura II Stage and a mother of a 4-year-old boy, said all these days, taking care of her child was a challenge as schools were shut and maids were not available for the whole day. “But now, a woman who was running a daycare centre has resumed service. I need to adjust timings only for lunch.”

Check Kabini water quality - Star of Mysore

Sir, I reside on V.B. Bakery Road, Srirampura 3rd Stage. I would like to bring to the notice of the authorities concerned that the quality of Kabini water we are getting for the last 15 days is not good. The water supplied is very hard, causing difficulty in cooking dal. Besides there is scale formation in cooking vessels and the taste also differs. Some other residents of the area are also facing similar problems. This makes one wonder whether supply of Kabini water is stopped and borewell water is supplied instead. Hence, I request the authorities concerned to look into this matter and supply good quality drinking water to our area. When Kabini water is abundantly available for city use, why not supply the same after properly testing the water potability. Urgent action is expected from the authorities concerned.
