Faculty Induction Programme for higher education teachers gets under way Updated: Updated: Share Article AAA The UGC-Human Resource Development Centre of Bharathidasan University on Wednesday initiated the third and fourth faculty induction programmes (FIP) on virtual platform, for university and college teachers from across the country. The first and second FIP, which is equivalent to an orientation programme, were conducted last November-December. The 40 participants from Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar and West Bengal, besides Tamil Nadu, will be taking part in the month-long programme as a mandatory exercise for professional development. The UGC s framework for FIP states that newly-recruited teachers will be trained within a year of their joining service to improve their teaching and management skills, adjust to the culture of higher educational institutions, and better understand their professional responsibilities.

Varsity plans to publish results of odd-semester exam by month-end

TIRUCHI Bharathidasan University is on the verge of completing evaluation of answer scripts of the odd semester exams, and is looking forward to publishing results of UG and PG programs by this month-end. The valuation work was carried out in the respective colleges under the supervision of the principals. The process went of well, Vice-Chancellor P.Manisankar said. For this specific purpose, the university designated the principals as Superintendents. The University issued circulars periodically to guide principals to conduct the exams and evaluation. “The teachers have, so far, uploaded marks for 80 % of the answer scripts. The remaining papers would be evaluated after the Pongal festival well in time for publication of results during the last week of this month,” Controller of Examinations (in-charge), Srinivasa Raghavan, said.
