SSC Open Ranking Tennis
National champions Janali Manamperi and Savini Jayasuriya claimed the women’s doubles title of the SSC Open Ranking Tennis tournament concluded in Colombo on Friday.
Manamperi and Jayasuriya beat Dinethya Dharmaratne and Anitra Dharmaratne 6-0, 6-3 in the final. Dinethya and Anitra were also the runners up in the Under-16 girls’ doubles final where Ave Maria Convent player Vishmi Serasinghe partnered Nesangi Hemakumara of Bishop’s College to win the title.
Chathurya Nilaweera and his brother Vichinthya of Stafford International School won the brothers’ battle in the Under-18 boys’ doubles. They beat Thehan Wijemanne and his brother Methwan.
