An entrepreneur’s life is not easy, especially if one decides to embark on such a journey at a late age. When I took the plunge at the age of 56 and co-founded a start-up, I did not imagine the trials and tribulations I would go through. Reading Wisdom for Start-ups from Grown-ups: Discovering Corporate Ayurveda by R Gopalakrishnan and R Narayanan, I was able to not only relate to my experiences, but also gain new perspectives on how an entrepreneur can manage effectively the many issues faced by him/her.

The Indian Institute of Information Technology, Sri City is holding a six-week online technology-based entrepreneurship development programme from April 12. The programme is sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology.
The event is being held under the aegis of Gyan Circle Ventures, the technology business incubator of the Institute, funded by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
There will be sessions on essentials of entrepreneurship, survey of the socio-economic scenario, identification of business opportunities, schemes of assistance offered by various constituents of the support team, preparation of project report, besides achievement motivation training and nuances of managing an enterprise.

Former Union Minister and TDP candidate for the Tirupati (SC) Lok Sabha constituency has lamented the sluggish progress of projects sanctioned during her stint at the Centre.
“In fact, several projects have either remained non-starters, or got stuck in the middle,” Ms. Lakshmi said while addressing a meeting on Wednesday.

AC major Blue Star will invest ₹250 crore in a manufacturing plant in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, which will have a production capacity of 5 lakh room air-conditioning units per annum. It will also invest ₹150 crore in a new manufacturing plant in Wada, Maharashtra, for deep freezers, a top company official said on Wednesday.
In the second phase, which will be in the next 3-4 years, another investment of ₹270 crore will be made in the Sri City plant, for an annual production capacity of 7 lakh room ACs. The construction of the plant will begin in FY22.
